The Artificial Worlds series approaches macroeconomic structure from the bottom up using agent-based modeling. Beginning with the smallest possible artificial world, each notebook introduces one new element and gradually builds toward more realistic social and economic systems. Every artificial world is implemented in Python as a fully reproducible experiment.
Artificial Worlds complements the EPISODE and DISCUSSION series. While EPISODEs begin with observations from the real world, Artificial Worlds begins with the smallest possible elements and asks what larger structures can emerge from their interactions. Together, these two approaches provide complementary paths toward understanding macroscopic structure.
